Welcome to Walker Community!
Located in the Bradshaw Mountains, south of Prescott, AZ, Walker Community is an old mining district, filled with history. It’s named after Joseph Walker, mountain man, explorer, and guide. He led a party to this valley to discover gold in the summer of 1863.
Today, the valley is filled with rustic cabins and elegant homes. There’s a vibrant community of people here, with an active social calendar. Some live here full-time, while others have second homes here.
Everyone loves it here. The community is great, with pancake breakfasts and other social events.

Wildfire prevention is everyone’s responsibility
PRESCOTT, AZ – April 16, 2021— The Prescott National Forest wants to remind our visitors about the importance of campfire safety and your part in preventing human-caused wildland fires. Warmer temperatures and spring winds are increasing fire danger across Arizona.
Please be vigilant of the high winds and rising temperatures and avoid using anything with an open flame or a spark. #OneLessSpark
If mowing grass down, use a string-style trimmer rather than a lawn mower as the blades can strike rock and produce a spark.
Make sure that your chain saw […]

It’s a White Valentine’s Day
Walker received another 5 inches of snow last night.
After the 4 feet we got a few weeks ago, this is nothing.
It’s enough to make everything beautiful out there.
It’s going to be a sunny day today, so it will probably all melt by tomorrow.
Be careful driving around.
These photos are of a hawk in the tree off our deck, enjoying the view.
