Welcome to Walker Community!
Located in the Bradshaw Mountains, south of Prescott, AZ, Walker Community is an old mining district, filled with history. It’s named after Joseph Walker, mountain man, explorer, and guide. He led a party to this valley to discover gold in the summer of 1863.
Today, the valley is filled with rustic cabins and elegant homes. There’s a vibrant community of people here, with an active social calendar. Some live here full-time, while others have second homes here.
Everyone loves it here. The community is great, with pancake breakfasts and other social events.

The risk at this point comes from tomorrow’s likely wind event. Wind can still blow debris from hot spots a great distance and cause problems. There definitely is still work to do. YCSO does not participate in the 6am briefing so no repopulation […]

I Got To Thank Our Local Fire Fighters On TV! – Crews make progress on Crooks Fire, some residents return home
No idea how this happened, but I was sitting in my truck, waiting to go home, and this reporter walks up and asks me some questions. We talk.
I ended up on the local ABC news about the Crooks fire, along with Verne Tocker and Steve Fredericks.
I’m at 1:06 and in the last 10 seconds.
The whole conversation was not included. What I said was “I want to thank our local fire fighters because /cut/ Without our local firefighters,” […]
