There will be electronic locks on teh dunpsters beginning Jan. 1, 2025, in two weeks.

You will need to download an app to your phone and use that to open the locks.

No more combination locks!

Hello Residents,

It is that time of year to renew your subscription for the Walker Trash
Collection services. The new lock code goes into effect January 01st 2025.

WFPA has been working on changes and improvements over the past few months.
We heard your ideas and concerns and have taken steps to better improve
our services.

Beginning January 1, we will no longer be using combination locks. The new
locks we will be using are electronic ones. These new locks will track
access dates/time of usage by each subscriber. The locks are accessible via
an app you will need to load onto your smart phone. You must have your
smart phone with you in order to access the dumpsters.

We have increased the price for 6 and 12 month subscription and will no
longer be offering a month to month option. Our costs for insurance,
service and maintaining the area where the dumpsters are located has
increased as well over the past 12 months. We did talk to other dumpster
companies and received multiple bids to compare to what we currently
paying. We were shocked to find out the lowest bid we had was almost double
what we are currently paying including the fines for dumping non household
garbage which ranged from $ 500 to $1,000 per occurrence. This is one of
the reasons we need to make sure subscribers comply with the rules and
regulations and DO NOT dump items other than household garbage. As a
reminder, only residential trash disposal is permitted, and it is the
obligation of residents to ensure that trash is properly placed in the
dumpsters. Yard clippings, vegetation, pine needles, branches, or other
yard waste, furniture, appliances etc., is not permitted. Further,
commercial and/or construction debris is prohibited. If anyone is caught
dumping non permitted items, we will terminate their electronic access and
take any other action as we feel needed.

We have put together a website to make it easier for residents to subscribe
to the trash services. For sign up instructions, please visit
www.walkerfire.org and click on the trash icon. Once your subscription has
been received, please allow 48 hours for us to send an email to each
subscriber with instructions for the app you will be using on your
smartphone. (Please remember we are volunteers and we handle these items in
our personal time.) As we transition to this new service we know there
could be some hiccups so please be patient and know that we are always
providing the best service for all of our residents.
