Meet The Election Candidates:

Four are elected one year and three are elected the next year.

This year there are four candidates to fill positions for on the board.

Three of our current Board Members are running for re-election.

Jeff Anderson
For re-election

I have been on the board for walker fire for the past 2 years. I have
enjoy serving the community at pancake breakfasts, cooking for walker days,
kids day and fire fighters appreciation.

I have been running businesses and been self-employed for the last 40 plus
years. My wife and I are full time residents going on 3 years and love the
people and the walker community.

I have been involved in many nonprofits from churches to being vice
president of the Arizona independent dealer’s association for 5 years.

I would be honored to continue to serve on the WFPA board for the next 2
years if voted in.

Bill Loughrige
For Re-Election

My Grandparents first rented a summer cabin here in 1947. It was the Pine
Mountain patented mining claim. (I was 5 years old) The mine on the claim
was being worked by Art Dahlin with Bob and Jon Rose. The Rose family
lived in what would be the middle of Walker Road where the Pink Car is. It
wasn’t pink then. Art Dahlin in addition to mining ran a pack of Lion
Hounds hunting lions all over Arizona. Pete Fair (a Veteran of the Spanish
American War), Dave Barry (with his 3 Burros) and Anton Burrilla (106 years
old) were all old hermits living in Walker. The Sheldon Mine was in full
swing. My Grandparents bought the Pine Mountain North claim in 1948 and
the family has been on the property ever since. My Granddad was the first
President of the newly formed WFPA in 1967.

Things have changed. A paved road, a first class all Volunteer Fire
Department, more permanent residents, and the word cabin, can hardly be
used to describe the homes being built here.

In 2010, I was elected to the Board of Directors and have served as
President since 2011. Our term on the Board is two years and you have the
opportunity to tell us how we are doing.

I am asking for your vote to remain on the Board. I enjoy working for the
community with the other Board Members. Your Board Members are a dedicated
and very professional group. Things are certainly different now from 1947.
The next 77 will bring changes too. We will need to remain alert and
flexible to grow to keep up with these changes. I believe I can help do
that.

Clyde McKay
For Re-Election

Hello community. I am running for re-election on the WFPA Board. Here is a
little bit about myself and my family … my wife Shelley and I are full
time residents in Walker and have had our place for almost 8 years.

We have 3 amazing children, Matt who is a Prescott HotShot Fire Fighter,
Nick who serves as an Officer on the Prescott Police Department and Leah
who is a student at Embry Riddle studying Cyber Security.

I am from England and grew up in Hong Kong. My professional background
prior to retiring from the industry and becoming a full time REALTOR in our
area is 30+ years in the consumer electronics business. My many years of
owning and running businesses, building, and turning global companies
around allows me to use my experience to helping look for and implement
ways to help improve WFPA.

Finding ways to do things better, more effectively and more cost effective
are things I am always striving for while serving on the Board. I have
served the community on the Board of Directors for 7 years and it is always
a pleasure to help volunteer my time to support the fire association and
help our community.

Louie Reale
New Candidate

We are full time residents in Walker and have owned our property since
2016, built our full-time home that was completed in October of 2023. We
broke ground in 2022 and lived in our 5th wheel and braved through the
rough winter.

We are very grateful to be part of a wonderful community. I am retired from
previous profession of being in the HVAC business of 42 years. We have met
and made a lot of friends up in Walker of full time and part time families
and want to be part of the board to help preserve the integrity of a great
community and help in any way possible. Thank you, Louie Reale.
