“Today is the test.” We probably heard that 6 or 7 times in this morning’s operational briefing. The windiest period today will be between noon and 4pm. It shouldn’t be that hot but will be dry. There is less heat in Division Alpha than yesterday but enough that spot fires could occur. Air operations are available this morning with the expectation that they may not be able to fly past noon b/c of the wind. The overnight Operations Section Chief said things on Division Alpha looked great so that is promising but it is not over. The Incident Commander said today is the day to close the door on this one. Let’s hope they are successful!
