All ‘Ready’ Notification lifted for local communities
Cellar Fire – July 22, 2019 Evening Update
Acres: Approximately 7,512 acres Percent Containment: 47 % Start Date: July 14, 2019 Cause: Lightning Origin Location: 16 Miles South of Prescott, AZ Jurisdiction: Prescott National Forest Fuels: Upper elevation: Ponderosa pine. Lower elevation: Brush, Grass and Chaparral Resources: 394 personnel including 2 Hot Shot Crews, 4 Type 2 IA Crews, 2 Type 2 Crews, 2 Dozers, and 9 Engines
Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has lifted the ‘READY’ notification. All READY notifications for the communities of Pine Flat, Walker, Groom Creek, Wolf Creek, Potato Patch, Indian Creek and Crown King have been lifted. Stay aware of the latest news and information from local media, your local fire department and public safety officials.

Cloud cover over the fire most of the day. Moisture continues to increase across the region today. This will set the stage for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area of the fire. Monsoonal weather patterns are trending over the next few days, firefighters will increase their situational awareness and will continue working towards containment.
There was minimal fire behavior over majority of the fire, with small hot areas interior to line in Blind Indian Creek drainage. Firefighters finished suppression repair along the southwest corner and northwest side of the fire.
Potential for heavy rain increase the importance of suppression repair efforts on the northeast and southeast side of the fire. Thunderstorms and Lightning may cause new starts. Firefighters remain ready to respond to new fires across the forest.

No Facebook account is required to view. There is a Cellar Fire Closure Area in effect on the Prescott National Forest. It includes everything south of Wolf Creek including Potato Patch, south to the community of Crown King. The community of Crown King remains open for business.
