If it’s time for the first WFPA pancake breakfast of the year then it’s time to think winter coats! Yes, the Walker Community Action Alliance will be continuing the Walker Winter Coat Drive.
Take a look in your closet – and all the closets in your home – and find those coats that haven’t been worn in quite awhile. Take a look at those coats that the kids, or grandkids, have out grown. Those are the coats you need to bag up and donate.
All winter coats will be collected at all the “Sundae Saturdays”, which are the first Saturday of July, August and September and at pancake breakfasts or wherever you find Victoria Morhous.
PLEASE, WINTER coats only
If you can’t find a coat PLEASE consider a $20 donation to the “Koats for Kidz” fund. New winter coats will be purchased for local area children with all money donated. How special for a child in need to receive a brand new coat.
Also, think about pledging $1 per coat collected. This funds the Thanksgiving Dinner program for families in the Project Hope Program at Catholic Charities and the Salvation Army’s “Christmas Angel” program. If 85 coats are collected you owe the fund $85. Worried it might exceed 140 coats this year? Okay, pledge a flat $50 or $100. Any amount will be gladly accepted.

In advance – thanks for your generous support for this event.
