Forest Officials are still concerned about safety in the area of the fire, particularly as it relates to monsoonal flooding.

Some areas within the closure area may be at low risk to flooding, but the best way to implement a closure area effectively is to close some of the major access points; therefore, some areas that may not be a major concern are still not open to the public at this time.

The Goodwin Fire closure area is in effect to ensure public safety and will be re-evaluated after September 30th.
