I drove up Big Bug Road yesterday, about 4:30 to see what the fire looked like.

There was one, small, lonely plume of smoke in the middle of the mesa, but all else looked good.

There’s a red stripe of retardant on the far left end of the mesa, dropped by the aircraft.

I was expecting the whole top of the mesa to be burnt, but it looked green to me.

The dark areas are just shadows from clouds.

The far side of it, where we can’t see from here, it’s burned, I’m sure.
